Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: What is sublimation?
A: Sublimation is a form of printing on materials. All of our flags are printed using a direct
dye sublimation printing process – this means that the ink goes through
the fabric instead of sitting on top of the fabric. This creates a vibrant, eye popping print.
Flags are sublimated on both sides. There is a liner between the two layers elimating ‘see
through’ on the design.
The transfer method involves printing an image in reverse onto a carrier paper using a special ink.
The paper print and receptor fabric are then fed through a heat press, face to face. The heat press
subjects the print to heat and pressure. The ink turns directly from a solid to a gas (sublimates),
transferring into the fabric.
